To protect yourself and your loved ones, you've invested in a handgun. But when the chips are down, how accurate will your aim be? Consider this: most law enforcement shootings occur within seven yards. And, amazingly, national statistics show that officers miss their targets more than 75% of the time.  However, the same statistics show that officers who use Crimson Trace laser sights hit their targets more than 90% of the time.  If Lasergrips can improve accuracy in real-life situations by that much, shouldn’t they be on your home defense handgun? Home break-ins occur with alarming frequency. Give yourself and your loved ones the security that comes from knowing you are prepared, should the unthinkable happen

The preceding is a direct excerpt taken from the Crimson trace Laser Grip mfg. home page and is not necessarily the opinion of our Tactical Weapons Training Staff.

The majority of our staff are or have been career Law Enforcement Officers with way too many  years of experience to add up. We even have a couple of rookies on board to keepprowlermed.jpg (200x250 -- 10207 bytes) us old guys fresh.  We agree that a laser is an excellent addition to your home defense equipment list. Crimson Trace is correct when they state that Home break-ins occur with alarming frequency ( no pun intended).  The information they do not bring forward is the fact that the national average Law Enforcement response time to a home alarm is over 20 minutes. If a violent confrontation occurs in our home, 20 seconds is a life time.. Imagine what 20 minutes would be like to endure while waiting on someone to help your family! As tactical law enforcement and civilian  trainers we strongly recommend that you do not do a search of your home should you believe that you have an intruder. All defensive experts recommend that you barricade your family and take up a defensive position while a 2nd member ( if available ) contacts 911.

Note From Lead Instructor:

Although a Laser is an excellent tool, it should not replace and will not replace quality training and practice. It is the responsibility of all firearms owners to obtain Quality firearms use and safety training.  You guys are the worst about this fact. Many of you believe you know what you are doing because you are born with the John ( by God) Wayne chromosomes that gives you the magic to know everything about Women, guns and cars.  If you have not received "formal" training now is the time to do so.

5 Things Every Handgun Owner Should Know

•  Practicing at the range can’t fully prepare you for a real-life incident.  The controlled environment of a target range is great for learning gun safety and shooting fundamentals.  But the circumstances when you’ll actually use your weapon for defense will be completely different.

•  The trauma of an attack or a life-threatening situation causes uncontrollable physiological changes.  Your “fight or flight” instinct takes over, causing your heart to race, your muscles to tense and limiting your ability to control your gun.  Lasergrips enable to you compensate for this reaction by clearly showing where you are aiming.

•  Law enforcement agencies have demonstrated that Lasergrips improve hit ratios by as much as 300%.  U.S. law enforcement officers are among the best-trained shooters in the world, but hit ratios during shootings in the field are staggeringly low, under 20%.  Lasergrips dramatically improve their performance in real-life shootings.

•  Experts agree: New technology can help you survive a personal attack. Laser sights were once large and impractical or cheap and flimsy. Crimson Trace has changed all that. Denny Hansen, in SWAT magazine, said, “The Lasergrips from Crimson Trace, in my opinion, are some of the best tactical tools to come down the road in a long time.”

•  Responsible, armed citizens prevent violent crimes every day without a firing a single shot.  You can never assume that being armed will prevent an attack, but the vivid red dot of a laser projects the threat of being fired upon better than anything else.  Evidence from law enforcement and military users clearly shows that a subject is more likely to stand down when faced with a laser-equipped gun.
